Rasma Says

Musings, deliberations, flashes of unaccounted for brilliance…

9th Grade Disco

They go in matching outfits

white top black bottom
golden hair teased, no part
They walk in sock feet
sliding fast to keep up
with each other
round and round
in one door
out the other down the hall
in the first door again
round and round
the disco floor
The busty babe
in leather tights
tows a plain jane
in sweats
her best friend
who is best
because she will never
show her up
Outside the door
the two feet tall tough guys
in ski hats and layered tee shirts
pass packets of snuff
in and out of jean pockets
in wannabe cocain
There is something here
grown-ups will never
understand, have never
because grown-ups
have never ever
been so young
